on flightless birds.
He thinks the results
might let us put a farm
on the moon
one day.
He's letting
the birds dry
out in the yard
covered with tarps.
Please don't say
anything.
You know
how sensitive Dad can be
about his research.
I like "Please don't say/anything" as a stanza all by its lonesome. Good enjambment, too. Damn good.
